Ive been in the studio a lot more lately. Painting really hard for some stuff ive got coming up. Really excited about a few new projects. Will keep them posted on here.

Painting new work, trying to push things forward experimentally is really the best part about being a full time artist, but also really frustrating. It’s Impossible to be objective when you’ve spent 2 weeks on 1 painting and stared at every brush stroke and mark on it intensely. And of course close friends will tell you everything’s good. So you have to learn to push things too far on purpose until you know youve messed it up, then work out which bits worked and which bits didnt. I spent the first couple of months this year doing exactly that, painting stuff id never show, and have already destroyed or painted over. But out of it I think ive found this new place, with all the elements of the older work, but with loads more kayos. Im really excited about it, and excited to show new works when their finished.

One of the best shows ive been to in the last 3 years. Artists including Dan Baldwin, Goldie, zoot, mrJago and Gemma Compton. But all the artists involved nailed it, a real nice variety of works.
